This homemade rose petal jam is a fragrant, delicate preserve made from fresh rose petals, sugar, and lemon juice. It’s an old-fashioned recipe that has been passed down for generations, turning simple ingredients into a sweet spread with an unforgettable floral aroma. Perfect for enjoying on toast, pastries, or as a unique topping for desserts.
Ingredients:
9 oz rose petals (fragrant, untreated)
9 cups sugar
1 lemon, juiced
Instructions:
Wash the rose petals and place them into boiling water for 2–3 minutes.
Strain them well through a fine sieve and mix with the lemon juice.
In a separate pot, cook the sugar with a little water until you get a thick syrup. Pour the hot syrup over the petals.
Simmer gently over low heat, stirring occasionally. While cooking, skim off any foam that forms on the surface.
Once the preserve is ready, pour it into sterilized glass jars, seal tightly, wrap in a blanket, and let cool completely.
