Looking for a weeknight dinner that feels special? This layered stuffed pizza brings all the indulgence of a pizzeria right into your kitchen. Packed with savory sausage, sautéed veggies, and melty cheese, it’s a fun, hands-on way to enjoy pizza with a twist. Perfect for sharing with family or keeping all to yourself!

Ingredients (Serves 4–6):

  • ½ lb Italian sausage, removed from casing
  • ½ lb fresh cremini or button mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 small red bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 thin-crust frozen cheese pizzas (16–18 oz each), thawed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella and provolone blend
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a 12–14 inch pizza pan with a sheet of aluminum foil.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage, mushrooms, onion, and bell pepper until sausage is browned and vegetables are tender (about 10 minutes). Drain any excess fat. Add garlic powder or red pepper flakes if desired.
  3. Place one pizza crust on the foil, cheese side up. Evenly spread the sausage and vegetable mixture over the pizza.
  4. Layer the second pizza on top, cheese side down, pressing gently to seal the edges. Fold the foil over to enclose the stuffed pizza. Bake for 20–25 minutes until heated through.
  5. Remove foil, brush the top lightly with olive oil, and sprinkle with the shredded cheese blend. Bake uncovered for 15–20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden. Slice and serve warm.
