Soft, golden Garlic Swirls with a rich garlic butter filling. Perfect as a snack, appetizer, or side, these homemade rolls are easy to make and full of flavor.
Ingredients – Dough:
6 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 oz active dry yeast (about 1 packet)
1 2/3 cups warm milk
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 tsp salt
Ingredients – Garlic Filling:
1/2 cup vegan butter or margarine
1 tsp salt
3 large egg yolks
6 cloves garlic, minced (add more for stronger flavor)
For Topping:
1 egg white, lightly beaten
1–2 tsp sesame seeds
Instructions:
In a large bowl, mix yeast with warm milk and a pinch of sugar. Let it sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
Add oil, salt, and flour gradually. Knead until you get a soft, elastic dough. Cover and let rise 30–40 minutes until doubled.
Divide dough into 4 portions. Roll each portion into a rectangle about 1/4-inch thick.
Spread garlic filling evenly over each rectangle. Roll up tightly into a log and slice into 1–2 inch pieces.
Place slices cut-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush tops with egg white and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
Serve warm as a snack, appetizer, or alongside meals.
Tips:
Add chopped fresh parsley or rosemary to the filling for extra flavor.
Swap sesame seeds for poppy seeds or everything bagel seasoning.
For a dairy-free version, use vegan butter and skip egg white or use plant-based milk to brush the tops.
