Pomegranate Jam Recipe
Ingredients:
- 4.4 pounds fresh pomegranate seeds (about 10–12 large pomegranates, cleaned)
- 6 ⅔ cups granulated sugar
Instructions:
- Carefully clean the pomegranates, removing the seeds and minimizing the amount of white membrane for a smoother jam.
- In a large bowl, mix the pomegranate seeds with the sugar. Cover and let sit overnight at room temperature—this will draw out the juice.
- The next day, pour the mixture into a large pot and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Strain the mixture, then return the juice to the pot. Puree the remaining pomegranate pulp.
- Add the puree back into the juice and cook everything together for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens into a rich, spreadable jam.
- Pour the hot jam into sterilized jars, seal tightly, and store in a cool, dry place.
