Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground meat (beef, pork, or a mix)
- 1 boneless, skinless chicken breast
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 slice of bread, soaked in water and squeezed
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 7 oz semi-hard cheese (like provolone or cheddar), thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons white wine
- Butter and flour, for greasing the pan
Preparation:
In a large bowl, combine ground meat, salt, pepper, squeezed bread, chopped onion, egg yolks, and parsley. Mix well, then add white wine and stir until fully combined.
Grease a rectangular baking dish with butter and dust lightly with flour. Spread one-third of the meat mixture evenly across the bottom. Layer with slices of cheese, then repeat with another layer of meat mixture, more cheese, and finish with a final layer of meat.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 35 minutes, until golden and cooked through. Let rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
