Ingredients:
For the Doughnuts:

2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
3/4 cup milk
2 large eggs
1/4 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Oil for frying (or use a doughnut pan for baking)
For the Glaze:

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Black food coloring (optional)
For Decoration:

Dark chocolate or black icing (for the black cat and bat features)
Candy eyes (for the spider and mice)
Purple and orange sprinkles
Licorice laces (for whiskers and spider legs)
Mini chocolate chips (for the bats’ eyes)
Instructions:
Prepare the Doughnuts:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. In another bowl, combine the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

Shape the Doughnuts:
If frying, heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 350°F (175°C). Use a doughnut cutter or two round cookie cutters to cut out shapes from the dough. For bats, cut traditional shapes and for cats, use rounded shapes with pointed ears. For spiders, simply cut small balls of dough and flatten them.

Fry or Bake:
Carefully drop the doughnuts into the hot oil, frying them until golden brown on both sides (about 2-3 minutes per side). If baking, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and fill a doughnut pan with the batter, baking for about 12-14 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let them cool on a wire rack.

Make the Glaze:
In a bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. If you want a black glaze, add a few drops of black food coloring and mix until uniformly colored.

Decorate the Doughnuts:

Black Cat: Dip a round doughnut in the glaze, let excess drip off. Use black icing to create ears and draw a face. Add candy eyes and licorice for whiskers.
Bats: Dip a doughnut in glaze and allow to set for a few minutes. Use dark chocolate or icing to draw wings and add mini chocolate chips as eyes.
Spiders: For small doughnuts, dip in glaze and add licorice legs around the edge. Place candy eyes on top.
Mice: For smaller round doughnuts, dip in glaze, place candy eyes and a tiny piece of licorice as a tail.
Serve:
Arrange your spooky doughnuts on a festive platter. Enjoy each delicious Halloween creation with friends and family. These whimsical doughnuts are sure to be a hit at any October gathering!

Note: Feel free to get creative with additional decorations or flavors in the doughnut batter to suit your taste or Halloween theme!
