Chicken with Mustard and Sesame recipe is easy to make and full of flavor. Tender chicken is cooked with fresh mushrooms, a creamy mustard sauce, and toasted sesame seeds for a simple, satisfying meal you can prepare any night of the week.

Ingredients:

  • 10.5 oz fresh mushrooms
  • 1.3 lbs chicken fillet (boneless, skinless)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons mustard (divided)
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (plus more if needed)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup water (divided)

Preparation:

  1. Wash, dry, and cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Coat the chicken pieces evenly with 1 tablespoon of mustard.
  3. Slice the mushrooms thinly.
  4. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chicken pieces in a single layer and cook until golden brown, about 5–7 minutes.
  5. Add the soy sauce and 2 tablespoons of water to the pan, then cover and simmer for 10–15 minutes until chicken is cooked through. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  6. In the same pan, toast the sesame seeds for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  7. Add the mushrooms to the pan, pour in 2 tablespoons of water, season with salt, and cook for 10 minutes until mushrooms are tender.
  8. Stir in the sour cream and return the chicken to the pan. Mix well.
  9. Finally, add the minced garlic and 1 tablespoon of mustard. Stir to combine and heat for another minute. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed. Serve hot.
