Chicken with Mustard and Sesame recipe is easy to make and full of flavor. Tender chicken is cooked with fresh mushrooms, a creamy mustard sauce, and toasted sesame seeds for a simple, satisfying meal you can prepare any night of the week.
Ingredients:
- 10.5 oz fresh mushrooms
- 1.3 lbs chicken fillet (boneless, skinless)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons mustard (divided)
- 2 tablespoons sour cream
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (plus more if needed)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup water (divided)
Preparation:
- Wash, dry, and cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
- Coat the chicken pieces evenly with 1 tablespoon of mustard.
- Slice the mushrooms thinly.
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chicken pieces in a single layer and cook until golden brown, about 5–7 minutes.
- Add the soy sauce and 2 tablespoons of water to the pan, then cover and simmer for 10–15 minutes until chicken is cooked through. Remove the chicken and set aside.
- In the same pan, toast the sesame seeds for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the mushrooms to the pan, pour in 2 tablespoons of water, season with salt, and cook for 10 minutes until mushrooms are tender.
- Stir in the sour cream and return the chicken to the pan. Mix well.
- Finally, add the minced garlic and 1 tablespoon of mustard. Stir to combine and heat for another minute. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed. Serve hot.
