Quick to prepare and packed with rich, comforting flavors, it’s an easy way to elevate any dinner without complicated ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder or 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 1/4 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons grated hard cheese (like Parmesan or Pecorino)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until soft and translucent.
  2. Add the sliced mushrooms and cover the pan. Cook for 5–7 minutes, until the mushrooms release their liquid and become tender.
  3. Pour in the white wine (if using) and sprinkle in the garlic. Stir and cook for another 3–4 minutes to let the flavors combine.
  4. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs over the mushrooms to absorb the excess liquid. Stir well to combine.
  5. Add butter and stir until melted and incorporated. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  6. Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle with grated cheese before serving warm.
