This Strawberry Summer Liqueur is a sweet, floral, and fruity delight that captures the essence of summer in a bottle. Made with fresh strawberries, delicate rose petals, vodka, and a hint of white wine, it’s perfect for sipping on warm evenings, gifting to friends, or adding a splash to summer cocktails. While it requires patience to steep and age, the result is a beautifully aromatic and refreshing liqueur.
Strawberry Summer Liqueur Ingredients
- 4 pints fresh strawberries, hulled
- 1 cup edible rose petals (organic and pesticide-free)
- 4 cups vodka
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- Optional: 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
How to Make Strawberry Summer Liqueur
- In a sterilized glass jar with a tight-fitting lid, combine strawberries, rose petals, vodka, and white wine.
- Store the jar in a cool, dark place for at least 1 month to steep. Crush the berries slightly after the first month and let steep for another week.
- Press as much juice from the berries as possible. Strain and filter the liquid through a cheesecloth into a clean container.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, dissolve sugar in water to make a simple syrup. Let cool.
- Gradually stir the cooled syrup into the liqueur, tasting as you go until it reaches your preferred sweetness. Add vanilla extract if using.
- Bottle the liqueur and store in a cool, dark place for another 2–3 weeks to allow the flavors to meld.
Serve chilled or use as a flavorful addition to cocktails, sparkling wine, or desserts.
