This creamy salmon spread is a perfect holiday appetizer or elegant finger food for any gathering. Rich, tangy, and infused with fresh dill and a hint of horseradish, it pairs beautifully with toasted whole-grain bread for a sophisticated bite.

Ingredients:

  • 3.5 oz full-fat cream cheese
  • 3.5 oz sour cream
  • Zest of 1/2 lemon
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp prepared horseradish
  • 7 oz cold smoked salmon
  • 0.7 oz fresh dill, chopped
  • Whole-grain black bread, for serving

Steps:

  1. Zest half a lemon and squeeze in the juice. Tip: Use a small glass to cut neat bite-sized rounds from the bread for festive presentation.
  2. Finely chop the dill and smoked salmon.
  3. In a bowl, combine cream cheese and sour cream. Add lemon juice, zest, and horseradish. Mix well.
  4. Fold in the chopped dill and smoked salmon.
  5. Spread the mixture onto pre-toasted bread slices.
  6. Finish with freshly ground black pepper and garnish with dill sprigs.
