These two delightful treats are perfect for any occasion, from festive celebrations to casual gatherings. The star cookies with jam are soft and buttery, filled with sweet jam and dusted with powdered sugar, making them a crowd-pleaser at birthdays, parties, or even on the go. The whipped egg white snowmen are light, crispy meringues, decorated to resemble cute snowmen—an adorable and melt-in-your-mouth treat, perfect for winter holidays or as a sweet decoration. Both recipes offer a delicious and fun way to enjoy baking and share homemade joy with others!

Ingredients for Star Cookies with Jam:

  • 300g all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 150g margarine
  • 100g powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • 200g sugar
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • Jam of choice

Preparation:

Mix the dough with the ingredients, roll it out thinly with a rolling pin, and cut out star shapes using a cookie cutter. For each cookie, you need two pieces. For the second star, make a small hole in the middle using a skewer.
Bake on parchment paper until golden. Once baked, sandwich the cookies together with whipped jam. Dust with powdered sugar using a sieve for an even coating.
This dough can be used for all types of cookies in any shape, with or without filling. It’s perfect for birthdays, kindergartens, and travel, and can be decorated with chocolate, sugar, or other toppings.

Snowmen Made of Whipped Egg Whites

Portions: 10
Preparation Time: 1 hour 50 minutes

Ingredients:

  • Egg whites from two large eggs
  • 120g sugar
  • 1/8 tsp tartar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Sugar for decoration
  • For decoration: black sugar pearls or black food coloring, and orange sugar sprinkles

Preparation:

Place the egg whites and sugar in a heatproof bowl and mix over low heat, using steam to dissolve the sugar. Once the sugar is dissolved, transfer the mixture to a blender and beat for about 10 minutes until a stiff, glossy meringue forms.
Fill a pastry bag or syringe with the meringue and pipe circles onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Preheat the oven to 100°C (212°F) and bake for 60-90 minutes until the meringues are firm to the touch and easily come off the parchment paper.
Turn off the oven, close the door, and let the meringue cool.
Once cooled, carefully remove the snowmen from the parchment paper. Decorate with eyes, buttons, and noses. You can also add small red hats if available.
The result is sweet, crunchy snowmen that melt in your mouth!
