This easy homemade tiramisu recipe is a classic Italian dessert made with layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers, rich mascarpone cream, and a dusting of cocoa powder. Ingredients:

  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese (about 8.8 oz / 250 g)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 packs ladyfinger cookies (about 48 pieces)
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee (cooled)
  • 2–3 tbsp rum (optional)
  • Cocoa powder (for dusting)

Instructions:

  1. Separate the egg yolks from the whites.
  2. Beat the egg yolks with powdered sugar until thick and pale.
  3. Add mascarpone cheese and mix until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then gently fold it into the mascarpone mixture.
  5. (Optional) Lightly beat egg whites and fold them in for a fluffier texture.
  6. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee mixed with rum.
  7. Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in a dish.
  8. Spread half of the cream mixture over them.
  9. Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers, then cover with the remaining cream.
  10. Dust generously with cocoa powder.
  11. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours (overnight is best).
