Ingredients:
- 9 oz smoked bacon
- 26 oz sauerkraut (about 3 cups packed)
- 9 oz pork (about 1 cup chopped)
- 4 small sausages (about 6 oz total)
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
Instructions:
In a deep pot, combine sauerkraut, chopped onion, and caraway seeds. Lay the smoked bacon on top. Cook slowly over low heat. Cut pork into pieces, season with salt and pepper, and fry until browned on both sides. Cover and simmer for 25 minutes. Fry the sausages separately.
