Nachos Pizza is a delicious and simple meal that combines crispy bread with rich pizza flavors. Slices of baguette or toast are baked until crunchy, then topped with homemade tomato sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese.

Instructions:

Slice baguette or toast bread into thin pieces and lightly brush with olive oil. Arrange the slices on a baking tray and bake for about 7 minutes, or until crispy. Spread 2 cups of pizza sauce* over the bread, then top with 3 cups of shredded mozzarella and 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese. Bake in the oven, then garnish with chopped fresh basil.

Pizza Sauce:

  • 1 can of peeled tomatoes
  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped or minced
  • 3-4 tablespoons fresh basil
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • A pinch of salt
  • A pinch of pepper
  • A pinch of sugar (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Preparation:

Pour the canned tomatoes into a bowl and mash them with a fork, leaving a slightly chunky texture. Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the garlic and sauté until translucent. Stir in the mashed tomatoes, mix well, and bring to a boil. Season with salt, pepper, basil, and oregano. If desired, add a pinch of sugar to balance the acidity. Reduce the heat and simmer for at least 15 minutes, stirring frequently.

If not using immediately, let the sauce cool and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
