Creamy Baked Potatoes make the perfect side dish for any special occasion, from a holiday dinner to a weekend family gathering.
Ingredients:
- 1 kg potatoes
- 200 g sour cream
- 200 g grated cheese (choose from Gouda, mozzarella, or cheddar)
- 100 ml cooking cream
- 50 g butter
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (or 1 fresh garlic clove, finely chopped)
- 1 teaspoon freshly chopped parsley (optional)
Directions:
- Peel the potatoes and slice them into thin rounds, about 3-5 mm thick. Place them in a pot of salted water and cook for about 5 minutes, just until they begin to soften but still remain firm. Drain well.
- In a bowl, combine the cooking cream, sour cream, half of the grated cheese, garlic powder (or finely chopped fresh garlic), and dried oregano. Season with salt and pepper to taste and mix until well combined.
- In a heatproof dish, layer the cooked potato slices, followed by a generous amount of the creamy mixture. Repeat this layering process until all ingredients are used up, finishing with a creamy layer on top. Sprinkle the remaining grated cheese over the top.
- Dot the top with small pieces of butter and place the dish in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F). Bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.
- Once your creamy baked potatoes are out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes before slicing. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley, if desired, for a burst of color and aroma.
