This elegant Venetian-inspired steak features thinly sliced beef topped with crisp Parmesan and a zesty lemon-Dijon dressing. Served chilled, it’s a sophisticated appetizer perfect for summer gatherings or a light starter.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb beef steak
- 5 oz Parmesan cheese
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Preparation:
- In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, mustard, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
- Slice the raw steak thinly, similar to deli-style slices.
- Cut the Parmesan into thin sticks or small shards.
- Arrange the steak slices on a serving platter. Drizzle the mustard-lemon dressing over the beef, sprinkle with freshly ground black pepper, and place the Parmesan sticks in the center or scattered on top.
- Serve immediately as a chilled appetizer or light starter.
Tip: For a slightly different twist, add a few arugula leaves under the beef for a peppery flavor and extra color.
