Sand Bar Cookies are sweet and nutty treats, perfect for any occasion. They are made with a mix of walnuts, pecans, and chocolate chips, giving them a rich and crunchy texture.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup butter + 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 1/4 cups light brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 cup flour, sifted
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped
- 3 cups pecans, finely chopped
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Butter a 9×9-inch pan.
- Sift together the flour, salt, and baking powder, then set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the flour mixture and blend until well combined.
- Fold in the walnuts, pecans, and chocolate chips.
- Spread the batter evenly in the greased pan.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let cool completely before cutting into squares.
