The New York Cake is a classic dessert that combines rich chocolate flavors with a nutty, moist texture. The addition of ground hazelnuts and a touch of rum gives it a unique and sophisticated taste.
Ingredients:
- 200g chocolate
- 5 eggs
- 50g ground hazelnuts
- 160g sugar
- 50g breadcrumbs
- Chocolate glaze
- 250g whipped cream
- 30ml rum
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 1 packet baking powder
Preparation:
- Whisk 4 eggs with a mixer and gradually add sugar until the mixture becomes fluffy.
- In a separate bowl, mix ground hazelnuts with vanilla sugar and baking powder.
- Soak the breadcrumbs in rum, then combine them with the hazelnut mixture and add to the egg mixture. Mix everything well.
- Pour the batter into a baking pan and bake at 200°C (390°F) for 15 minutes.
- Divide the whipped cream into two portions. Melt the chocolate and mix it into one portion of the whipped cream.
- Once the cake base is baked and cooled, cut it into two layers.
- Spread the chocolate whipped cream over the first layer, place the second layer on top, and cover the entire cake with the remaining chocolate whipped cream.
- Drizzle the cake with chocolate glaze for an extra decadent finish.
