This mixed seed bread is soft and healthy. It has lots of seeds on top and inside. It’s easy to make and tastes great fresh from the oven.
Ingredients:
- 5 cups flour (whole wheat and white, about 2 ½ cups whole wheat + 2 ½ cups white) — sometimes I add cornmeal if I have it at home
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- ¾ cup milk
- ⅓ cup water
- 1 egg
- 7 tablespoons butter
- 1 packet dry yeast
- 2–3 tablespoons toasted seeds (sunflower, pumpkin, etc.)
For brushing:
- 1 egg (for brushing)
- Ground flaxseed and sesame seeds (for topping)
Preparation:
Put all ingredients in a bread machine (liquids first, seeds last) and select the dough program.
Divide the dough into 4 parts and shape into small loaves.
Brush with egg and sprinkle with seeds.
Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
