Heart-shaped buttery cookies dusted with powdered sugar on a white plate in natural light.

Delicate, buttery, and lightly sweet, these Heart Cookies are a charming treat for any season. A hint of almond and a touch of vanilla elevate the flavor, making them irresistible for holidays, gifts, or afternoon tea.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 3/4 cups (220 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (60 g) powdered sugar, plus extra for dusting
  • 1 Tbsp almond flour or finely ground almonds
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 Tbsp cream or milk
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 320°F (160°C). Beat the butter until creamy. Stir in powdered sugar, almond flour, and a pinch of salt until smooth. Add the milk and vanilla, mixing until fully incorporated. Gradually fold in the all-purpose flour to create a soft, pliable dough.

Divide the dough into two portions and roll each on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into heart shapes (or any shape you like) and transfer to a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake for 12–14 minutes, just until the edges are set but the cookies remain pale. Let them cool on the tray for a few minutes before moving to a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with melted chocolate for extra flair.
