This is one of the crispiest and most flavorful potato dishes thanks to the cornmeal coating and Pepper powder—a true comfort food winner!
Ingredients:
- 2.2 lbs (1 kg) potatoes
- ½ to ¾ cup cornmeal (about 10 oz or 300 g)
- Oil (for greasing the pan)
- Salt, to taste
- 1 tsp sweet Pepper powder (or to taste)
Instructions:
- Peel, wash, and cut the potatoes into thick sticks—slightly thicker than French fries.
- In a small bowl, mix cornmeal with a bit of salt.
- While the potatoes are still wet (this helps the cornmeal stick), coat each piece with the cornmeal mixture.
- Arrange the coated potatoes in a single layer on a lightly oiled baking sheet. Do not stack them.
- Sprinkle a little Pepper powder over the top for extra flavor and color.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 45–60 minutes, or until golden and crispy. Flip halfway for even crisping if needed.
