Crispy potato and cheese patties are a fast and delicious solution for when you want something savory and satisfying. Made with shredded potatoes, melty cheese, and a hint of fresh parsley, they’re pan-fried until golden and crisp. Serve them warm on their own or with a tangy sauce or fresh fruit garnish—like orange slices—for an unexpected burst of flavor. Great for lunch, dinner sides, or even as a party snack.
Ingredients
1.3 lbs white potatoes (about 4 medium)
7 oz dairy-free or regular Gouda cheese, grated
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
Optional: 2 oranges, sliced into rounds for garnish
Instructions
Wash, peel, and grate the potatoes using the large holes of a box grater.
Place grated potatoes in a bowl and gently squeeze out excess moisture.
Add grated cheese, flour, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together thoroughly.
Heat a thin layer of oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Using a spoon, scoop a small amount of the mixture and place it into the hot pan. Flatten gently with the back of the spoon to form a patty shape.
Fry for about 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden and crisp.
Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
Serve warm, optionally garnished with orange slices around the edge of the serving plate for a fresh, citrusy accent.
