Chocolate Caramel Candy Cake Ingredients (serves 4):
- 6 oz (170 g) chocolate candies filled with caramel cream (or regular caramels)
- 3.5 oz (100 g) butter
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup (60 g) powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup (70 g) all-purpose flour
Instructions:
- Melt 130 g of caramel-filled chocolate candies and butter over a double boiler, stirring continuously.
- Remove from heat, add sugar, eggs, and flour, and mix well until smooth.
- Chop the remaining candies and stir them into the batter.
- Pour the mixture into a greased cake pan and bake at 350°F (180°C) for about 15 minutes.
- Let the cake cool completely before removing it from the pan. Decorate as desired and serve.
Walnut and Chocolate Cake Ingredients:
- 6 egg yolks
- 1 cup (200 g) sugar
- 2 cups (250 g) ground walnuts
- 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
- 6 egg whites
For the cream:
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup (250 g) sugar
- 5.3 oz (150 g) cooking chocolate
- 1 cup (250 g) butter
- Juice of 1 lemon
Instructions:
- Whisk egg yolks and sugar until fluffy, then add ground walnuts and breadcrumbs, followed by the whipped egg whites.
- Pour the mixture into a greased and floured round cake pan and bake at 400°F (200°C) for about 40 minutes.
- Meanwhile, prepare the cream: combine eggs and sugar over a double boiler, add broken chocolate, and cook, stirring until the mixture thickens.
- Once thickened, let the cream cool. Meanwhile, whisk the butter and lemon juice.
- Combine the cooled cream and butter mixture. Cut the cake in half, spread the cream between the layers, and decorate with crushed and whole walnuts.
