To make this delicious Green Bean Moussaka, you will need fresh wide green beans, ground meat, onions, garlic, eggs, sour cream, and a few simple seasonings like salt, pepper, and parsley.

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs (1 kg) wide green beans
  • 2 onions
  • 1 lb (500 g) ground meat
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 4 eggs
  • Fresh parsley
  • 1 cup (2 dl) oil
  • Salt and ground black pepper
  • 3 cloves garlic

Preparation:

  1. Clean and wash the green beans. Sauté the beans in 1/2 cup (1 dl) of heated oil along with one finely chopped onion and minced garlic. Add salt, cover, and cook. Occasionally add a little water until the beans soften and all the water evaporates.
  2. Meanwhile, heat the remaining oil in another pan and sauté the second chopped onion. Add the ground meat, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned. Remove from the heat, add one beaten egg and chopped fresh parsley.
  3. Grease a baking dish and layer the beans followed by the meat mixture. The final layer should be beans.
  4. Whisk the sour cream and remaining three eggs, and pour the mixture over the moussaka. Bake in a preheated oven until golden brown on top.
