If you love adding extra flavor to everyday meals, these three easy homemade sauces will become your favorites. Each one brings something different to the table — a creamy plant-based sauce, a bold chili mix, and a fragrant garlic blend. They’re perfect for vegetables, grilled dishes, fish, and quick weeknight meals. Made with simple pantry ingredients, these sauces come together in minutes and elevate any plate.

1. Creamy Soy Sauce for Savory Dishes

Ingredients:

  • ¾ cup soy flour
  • 2 cups soy milk
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • ⅓ cup regular milk
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped parsley
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions:

Toast the soy flour in a dry pan until lightly golden. Slowly pour in warm soy milk, whisking constantly so no lumps form. Cook until the sauce thickens. Add the regular milk, lemon juice, parsley, bay leaf, and pepper. Simmer briefly to blend the flavors. This mild, creamy sauce is excellent with fish, vegetables, or fried dishes.

2. Spicy Chili Sauce for Roasted and Fried Meals

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium onions, finely chopped
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • ¼ cup broth or water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Sauté onions in oil until soft. Add garlic and cook for another minute. Mix in paprika, ketchup, sugar, vinegar, broth or water, and butter. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes. You’ll get a rich, slightly spicy sauce ideal for fried foods, roasted meats, or grilled dishes.

3. Gentle Garlic Sauce for Vegetables and Grilled Foods

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • ½ tsp vegetable seasoning
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice or white vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley

Instructions:

Heat the oil and stir in the flour to make a light roux. Gradually add 1½–2 cups water while whisking until smooth. Cook for about 10 minutes. Add garlic, seasoning, lemon juice or vinegar, salt, pepper, and parsley. Simmer briefly and adjust the thickness with more water if desired. Ideal for boiled or grilled vegetables.
