Enjoy homemade savory rolls with caramelized onion and smoky bacon alongside soft potato rolls stuffed with savory sausage. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a delicious snack.

Ingredients – Onion Bacon Rolls:

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour

2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)

1 tsp sugar

3/4 cup warm milk

1/3 cup vegetable oil

1 large egg

1 cup diced yellow onion

3/4 cup diced smoked bacon

1 egg, beaten for brushing

Instructions

In a small bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm milk. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.

In a large bowl, mix flours, oil, and one egg. Pour in yeast mixture and knead into a smooth dough. Cover and let rise 1 hour.

Sauté onion and bacon in a skillet over medium heat until soft and lightly golden. Let cool slightly.

Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut circles about 2 inches wide. Make a small indentation in the center of each.

Fill each indentation with onion-bacon mixture. Brush edges with beaten egg. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 18–20 minutes until golden.

Ingredients – Potato Sausage Rolls:

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 cup cooked potato, peeled and grated (about 2 medium potatoes)

2/3 cup unsalted butter, softened

3 oz smoked sausage, sliced thin (about 1/3 cup)

1 egg, beaten for brushing

1 tsp caraway seeds (optional)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Mix flour and baking powder in a bowl. Add grated potato and softened butter. Knead gently into a soft dough.

Roll dough 1/4-inch thick. Cut circles about 2 inches wide.

Place a slice of sausage on every other circle, cover with another circle, and press edges to seal.

Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with caraway seeds if desired. Arrange on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Bake 20–25 minutes until lightly golden. Serve warm.
