Isn’t it fascinating how simple ingredients can come together to create something so delicious and comforting? Potato Dough is a perfect example of that.
Ingredients for the Dough:
- 4 cups (500 g) all-purpose flour
- 3 eggs
- A pinch of salt
Ingredients for the Filling:
- 2.2 lbs (1 kg) potatoes
- A little oil
- 1 medium onion
- 1 tablespoon powdered paprika
Preparation:
- Mix the flour, eggs, and salt to form a dough. If the dough is too firm, add a little water.
- Shape the dough into a ball and let it rest for a bit.
- Roll the dough out with a rolling pin, let the sheet dry, and then cut it into strips or small pieces. Allow them to dry further, and then cook in salted water.
- Meanwhile, boil the potatoes and cut them into cubes.
- In a pan with a little oil, sauté the finely chopped onion. Once it’s nicely browned, remove from heat and stir in the powdered paprika.
- Add the potato cubes to the mixture and stir well.
- Combine the potatoes with the cooked dough, mix thoroughly, and serve hot.
