Ingredients:
7 oz (½ cup + 2 tbsp) unsalted butter
2 cups all-purpose flour
½ cup granulated sugar (for dough)
2 egg yolks (for dough)
5 egg yolks (for filling)
½ cup granulated sugar (for filling)
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups sour cream
2 cups strained cow cheese (or farmer’s cheese)
5 egg whites
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
Rub butter into flour until crumbly, then mix in ½ cup sugar. Add 2 egg yolks and knead into a dough. Roll out dough to fit a 9×13-inch baking pan and place it in the pan.
For the filling, beat 5 egg yolks with ½ cup sugar and vanilla until smooth.
Stir in sour cream and strained cheese until fully combined.
Whip 5 egg whites to stiff peaks and gently fold into the filling.
Pour filling over the dough in the pan.
Bake until golden brown, about 40–50 minutes. Slice while hot and dust with sugar before serving.
