Did you ever try tart with orange and marzipan cream? It’s a delicious dessert with a soft crust, creamy filling, and sweet orange slices on top.
Ingredients:
- 200 g flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- 100 g butter
- 130 g sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 1 tablespoon orange jam
- 500 ml milk
- 1/2 vanilla pod
- 1/2 packet of pudding powder
- 6 egg yolks
- 100 g marzipan paste
- 5 small oranges
- 2 tablespoons orange liqueur
- A few mint leaves
Preparation:
Knead the dough using flour, baking powder, salt, butter, 2 tablespoons of sugar, the egg, 2 tablespoons of hot water, and vanilla sugar. Chill the dough. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Roll out the dough and place it into a greased 26 cm round baking tin with raised edges. Prick the dough with a fork, cover it with parchment paper, and weigh it down with nuts. Bake for about 15 minutes, then remove the paper and nuts.
Spread the baked base with 2 tablespoons of orange jam. Heat 400 ml of milk with the vanilla pod and a pinch of salt. Remove the vanilla pod. Mix the pudding powder with the remaining milk and egg yolks, then pour it into the heated milk. Stir and cook for about 3 minutes. Add coarsely grated marzipan and sugar to the mixture. Let the cream cool, then spread it over the tart base.
Slice the oranges into rings. Heat 4 tablespoons of jam with the orange liqueur and dip the orange slices into the mixture. Let them cool and arrange on the tart. Garnish with mint leaves as desired.
