This Coconut Baklava Brings a Taste of Lebanon to Your Table!
Move over traditional baklava—this Lebanese Coconut Baklava is a tropical twist you didn’t know you needed. Sweet, moist, and bursting with flavor, it’s a dessert that’s as simple to make as it is delicious.
Ingredients:
- 2 ½ cups shredded coconut
- 5 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
For the Syrup:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup water
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a baking pan.
- In a large bowl, mix coconut, eggs, milk, flour, sugar, vanilla, and baking powder until well combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
- While the cake bakes, prepare the syrup by combining sugar and water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 5 minutes. Add lemon juice and stir.
- Pour the hot syrup evenly over the baked cake while it’s still warm. Let it soak before serving.
