Ingredients:
- ¾ cup warm milk
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
For the topping:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons water
- Fresh dill, parsley, or thyme (your choice of herbs)
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, combine the warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until the yeast becomes frothy and bubbly.
- Add salt, vegetable oil, and flour to the yeast mixture, then knead the dough until it becomes soft and smooth.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 40-60 minutes, or until doubled in size.
- While the dough rises, mince the garlic and chop the herbs. In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, garlic, water, and herbs. Set aside.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 15 small balls. Arrange the dough balls on a greased baking sheet.
- Cover with plastic wrap and let them rise for an additional 15-20 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 20-22 minutes, or until golden brown.
- After baking, immediately brush the warm rolls with the garlic and herb mixture. Cover them with plastic wrap and let them rest for 10-20 minutes before serving.
