This homemade cornbread is made with a blend of cornmeal and all-purpose flour, giving it an irresistible flavor and a beautiful golden color.
Ingredients:
- 2 to 2 1/3 cups cornmeal
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 5 tablespoons oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/4 cups milk
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk and oil. Whisk until well combined.
- Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients, stirring with a wooden spoon or mixing on low speed until you get a smooth batter. If the mixture is too thick, add a little more milk, but be careful not to make it too runny.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for about 45 minutes, or until the cornbread is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Once done, remove the cornbread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
