This homemade cornbread is made with a blend of cornmeal and all-purpose flour, giving it an irresistible flavor and a beautiful golden color.

Ingredients:

  • 2 to 2 1/3 cups cornmeal
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 5 tablespoons oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups milk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk and oil. Whisk until well combined.
  4. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients, stirring with a wooden spoon or mixing on low speed until you get a smooth batter. If the mixture is too thick, add a little more milk, but be careful not to make it too runny.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  6. Bake for about 45 minutes, or until the cornbread is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Once done, remove the cornbread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
