A delicious and easy-to-make blackberry liqueur using fresh berries, sugar, cinnamon, and brandy. Perfect for sipping or gifting.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ¾ cups fresh blackberries
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 stick whole cinnamon
  • 3 cups grape brandy (38% alcohol), or a neutral brandy

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the blackberries briefly with cold water in a colander. Let drain well and pat dry with a clean cloth.
  2. Place the blackberries, sugar, and cinnamon stick into a clean 5-cup (1.25-liter) glass jar with a tight-fitting lid.
  3. Pour in the brandy and seal the jar.
  4. Let it sit in a cool, dark place for several weeks, stirring or shaking occasionally.
  5. When ready, strain and bottle.
    Note: The finished liqueur lasts about 4 months.
