Fried Zucchini are golden, crispy, and full of flavor. Lightly battered with a simple egg and flour mixture—and an optional splash of beer for extra crispiness—these zucchini rounds make a perfect appetizer, snack, or side dish. Quick to prepare and satisfying to eat, they are a favorite for family meals or casual gatherings.
Ingredients
1 large zucchini, sliced into ¼-inch thick rounds
½ teaspoon salt
1 large egg
¼ cup milk
¼ cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons beer (optional, for extra crispiness)
¼ teaspoon black pepper
2–3 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Sprinkle the zucchini slices with salt and let them sit for 5 minutes to draw out excess moisture. Pat dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, flour, beer (if using), and pepper until smooth.
- Heat vegetable oil in a medium skillet over medium heat.
- Dip each zucchini slice into the batter, ensuring it is evenly coated.
- Fry the slices in the hot oil for about 1–2 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve immediately as a snack, side dish, or appetizer.
