We all love a good cheese pie, and when made this way, it’s guaranteed to be irresistibly delicious, crispy on the outside and soft and cheesy on the inside. Today we made a traditional cheese pie. It’s simple and turned out excellent-tasty and crispy.
Ingredients:
3 large eggs
6–7 oz (about 1½ cups) firm cheese (like feta, ricotta salata, or farmer’s cheese)
¾ cup plain yogurt
½ packet baking powder (about 1½ tsp)
1 lb (½ kg) phyllo dough (thin sheets)
1 cup sparkling mineral water
Vegetable oil (for brushing)
Light sesame seeds (for sprinkling)
Black sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
Grease your baking dish with a little oil.
Roll the phyllo after putting the cheese filling, then place the rolls in a circle in the baking dish.
Repeat with two rolls, then cheese filling, roll again, and continue layering this way.
Brush the top with a little oil and sprinkle sesame seeds.
Drizzle a little more oil on top and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 50–60 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
Serve warm with a glass of yogurt or kefir.
