A perfect combination of pasta and bacon that’s sure to delight anyone who tries it. Perfect for busy weeknights or indulgent weekend dinners, this recipe combines simple ingredients to create a rich, flavorful dish.

Ingredients:

  • For the Pasta:
    • 500 g (1 lb) pasta of your choice
    • 200 g (7 oz) bacon, diced
    • 100 g (3.5 oz) Parmesan cheese, grated
    • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For the Sauce:
    • 150 ml (2/3 cup) milk
    • 100 g (3.5 oz) grated cheese (cheddar or any melty cheese)
    • 100 ml (1/2 cup) cooking cream
    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 2 medium onions, finely chopped
    • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Instructions:

    • Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until translucent.
    • Stir in the flour and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until it forms a light roux.
    • Gradually pour in the milk and cooking cream, whisking continuously to prevent lumps.
    • Bring the mixture to a boil, season with salt and pepper, and let it simmer on low heat for about 15 minutes.
    • Remove from heat and stir in the grated cheese until fully melted and smooth.
    • While the sauce is simmering, cook the pasta in salted water according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
    • In a separate pan, cook the diced bacon until crispy.
    • In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta, crispy bacon, and creamy sauce. Mix well to ensure everything is evenly coated.
    • Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
    • Sprinkle the top generously with grated Parmesan cheese.
    • Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for about 15 minutes, or until the cheese on top is golden and bubbling.
