Simple and delicious chocolate Easter eggs.
Ingredients:
- 8 cups all-purpose flour (1 kg)
- 2 1/2 cups granulated sugar (500 g)
- 2 1/2 cups ground walnuts (250 g)
- 1 cup honey (250 g)
- 5 eggs
- 6 tablespoons melted butter
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
For the filling:
- 2/3 cup butter (150 g), softened
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar (100 g)
For the glaze:
- 9 oz (250 g) dark chocolate
- 5 1/2 tablespoons butter (80 g)
- 3 oz (85 g) white chocolate, melted (for decoration)
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, mix the flour with baking powder. Add walnuts, sugar, eggs, melted butter, honey, and cinnamon. Knead the dough well. Cover and refrigerate for 1 day.
- After resting, knead the dough again and roll out slightly thicker.
- Using a soup ladle, cut out shapes in the form of half eggs, slightly indented in the middle.
- Place the shapes on a greased baking sheet with the rounded side facing up.
- Bake until golden and cool completely.
- Prepare the filling by whipping softened butter with powdered sugar.
- Fill the cooled halves with the butter filling and join two halves to form an egg shape.
- Dip the formed “eggs” in the glaze made by melting dark chocolate with butter.
- Decorate with melted white chocolate.
