Indulgent chocolate brownie bars layered with gooey caramel, chocolate chips, and crunchy nuts—perfect for dessert lovers or holiday treats.
Ingredients
14 oz caramel candies
½ cup evaporated milk
1 box German chocolate cake mix
¾ cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease and lightly flour a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
In a small saucepan or double boiler, combine the caramel candies and ½ cup evaporated milk. Heat over low, stirring frequently, until the caramels are completely melted and smooth. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the dry cake mix, melted butter, remaining ½ cup evaporated milk, and chopped nuts. The batter will be very thick.
Spread half of the batter evenly into the prepared pan and bake for 8 minutes. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips over the partially baked layer. Drizzle the melted caramel mixture evenly on top.
Spoon the remaining batter over the caramel layer and gently spread it to cover. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 18–20 minutes, or until the top is set. Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting into squares.
