Chicken in Chili Yogurt is a quick and delicious dish, perfect for two people. It combines tender chicken pieces with a creamy yogurt sauce, flavored with chili, garlic, and fresh herbs. This recipe is light and easy to make, with only a few ingredients.
Ingredients for 2 servings
- 300 g (10.5 oz) chicken breast fillet
- 150 ml (5 fl oz) yogurt
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 clove garlic
- A small amount of parsley and basil
- A pinch of salt
Optional addition
- 200 g (7 oz) fresh or feta cheese (I prefer low-fat cheese)
Preparation
Depending on the pan you’ll use for frying the chicken, you might need to lightly grease the surface with a small amount of oil. If you use oil, drain off any excess.
- Finely chop the garlic, parsley, and basil.
- Cut the chicken fillet into cubes and fry them in a pan without oil for about 5 minutes. Shake the pan occasionally to ensure the chicken cooks evenly on all sides.
- Mix the yogurt with a pinch of salt, chili powder, and the chopped garlic. Pour the mixture over the cooked chicken, stir, and simmer until all the liquid evaporates.
- Just before finishing, sprinkle the dish with chopped parsley and basil.
