Ingredients:
- 1.8 lb (800 g) ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely diced
- 2 cans diced tomatoes (14 oz / 400 g each)
- 1 tsp dried onion flakes
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1.5 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- 1.2 kg (2.5 lb) green cabbage, roughly chopped
- 1 can (12 oz / 350 ml) tomato puree
Instructions:
- In a large soup pot, cook the ground beef and onions over medium heat until the meat is lightly browned and onions are soft.
- Stir in the dried onion flakes, garlic powder, and salt.
- Add the chopped cabbage, diced tomatoes (crushing them slightly), and tomato puree.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and let simmer for about 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Taste and adjust seasoning before serving.
