This rich and flavorful beef stew uses high-quality dark beer to tenderize the meat, creating an incredibly aromatic dish where the beef practically melts in your mouth. The alcohol cooks off during the preparation, making it suitable for all ages, while the deep, malty flavor of the beer remains, enhancing the overall taste.
Beef Stew with Dark Beer Ingredients:
800 g beef shoulder, cut into cubes
250 g chopped onion
3 cloves garlic, minced
500 ml dark beer
3 tablespoons olive oil
Flour, salt, and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Begin by cutting the beef shoulder into bite-sized cubes. Coat the beef in flour and brown it in a hot pan with olive oil.
Once the meat is nicely seared, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for a few minutes until softened.
Season with salt and pepper, then pour in the dark beer. Let it simmer for a few minutes before covering the pan.
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and transfer the stew to the oven, cooking for about two hours. There’s no need to stir during this time as the flavors will meld perfectly.
Serve the stew hot, accompanied by boiled potatoes or pasta, according to your preference.
This dish is a perfect example of how simple ingredients, combined with the boldness of dark beer, create a savory and comforting meal that will satisfy everyone at the table.
