Master the art of making soft and buttery crescent rolls at home with this classic recipe. These Baker’s Crescent Rolls are perfect for any meal, with a golden crust, tender interior, and just the right touch of salt.
Ingredients:
- 6 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ⅔ cups warm milk
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 3 tablespoons lard
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 fresh yeast cake (2 oz)
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
Preparation:
In a bowl, combine the warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let it rest for 10 minutes until the mixture activates. Add the remaining ingredients and gradually mix in the flour until you form a smooth dough. Cover the dough and let it rise until doubled in size.
Once risen, divide the dough into 20 portions and shape them into balls. Allow the dough balls to rest, covered with a cloth. Roll each piece into a crescent shape, place on a baking sheet, and let rise again.
Before baking, brush the rolls with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse sea salt. Bake at 400°F until golden brown.
