Wholesome Fasting Menu: Polenta Cheese Balls and Vegetables

Fasting time is coming, the ideal time to prepare for a slightly different way of eating. Fasting is very healthy for the body and the energy balance in a person. We will start with some simple dishes, then we will make a solid, varied and healthy menu. There is an old wisdom that says…Let your food be your medicine, and your medicine your food/Hippocrates. Let that be our guideline.

Polenta balls with green vegetables

Ingredients:

polenta/bag up to two

water

spinach

cucumbers, fresh or from winter storage

oregano

rosemary

salt

parsley

if desired, tomato or other seasonal vegetables can be added

Way of preparation

First, cook the polenta, according to the instructions on the bag. Blanch the spinach briefly. Cut the cucumber into small cubes. Prepare the spices. Mix all the ingredients together with the polenta in a bowl and make balls from the mixture. Arrange the finished balls on baking paper and let them rest for half an hour. Then serve them on lettuce leaves on a plate.

Polenta with fasting cheese

Ingredients:

polenta, one or more bags, as needed

water

fasting cheese

fasting margarine

salt

Preparation:

Cook the polenta, according to the instructions on the packet. Then, while the mixture is still hot, shape the balls as desired and arrange them in a baking tray. Spread the meatballs with low-fat margarine, then grate vegetable cheese and let them brown. Bake for 20 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius, until golden brown. When the dumplings are baked, serve them with a cooked dish.

Polenta with side dish:

Ingredients:

polenta/bag or as needed

water

salt

fresh tomatoes

basil dressing

mackerel

Preparation:

Cook the polenta, while it is still hot, pour it into a round pan and put it to bake. When golden brown, take out, cut into cubes. Put basil spread, diced tomatoes and a piece of baked mackerel. An excellent and healthy meal.
