Pizza is a delicious and easy meal to prepare, which is why it’s so popular and loved by many. If you don’t like store-bought pizza dough and aren’t an expert in making dough from scratch, this recipe is perfect for you.
Ingredients:
For the Dough:
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup warm water (about 110°F)
- 1 1/2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tsp active dry yeast (about 10g)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tbsp sugar
For the Sauce:
- 14 oz canned whole peeled tomatoes (1 can)
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/8 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/8 tsp dried rosemary
- Pinch of chili flakes (optional)
- Pinch of marjoram
- Pinch of sugar
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
For the Toppings:
- 3.5 oz pressed ham (about 1/3 cup chopped)
- 0.7 oz black olives (about 1/4 cup sliced)
- 3.5 oz fresh mushrooms (about 1 cup sliced)
- 9 oz mozzarella cheese (about 1 cup shredded)
- 1 oz prosciutto (about 1 slice, torn)
Instructions:
- Cut tomatoes and remove seeds. Blend or finely chop until smooth.
- Heat olive oil over medium heat, add garlic and sauté ~10 seconds. Add basil, oregano, rosemary, chili flakes, marjoram. Stir 10 seconds.
- Add tomatoes with juice and 1/2 cup water. Add sugar and salt. Simmer 30-40 minutes until thick.
- In warm water (110°F), dissolve yeast with sugar and salt. Add olive oil and let bubble for 10 minutes.
- Mix yeast mixture with flour and knead soft dough. Cover and rest 15 minutes to double size.
- Preheat oven to 450–500°F. Roll dough on greased pan. Spread sauce evenly.
- Add ham, olives, mushrooms, prosciutto, mozzarella, sprinkle oregano.
- Bake 10 minutes or until crust is golden and cheese bubbly.
