Ingredients
Dark Mixture:
- 9 oz crushed biscuits (about 2 cups)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Light Mixture:
- 3.5 oz crushed biscuits (about 1 cup)
- 1 1/3 cups ground roasted hazelnuts
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/3 cup milk
- 3.5 oz milk powder (about 1/2 cup)
- 1 packet vanilla sugar (or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract)
Topping:
- 1/2 cup ground roasted hazelnuts
Instructions
Prepare the Dark Mixture: In a bowl, combine crushed biscuits, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and vanilla extract. Knead until smooth.
Make the Light Mixture: Heat milk and vanilla sugar in a saucepan until boiling. Remove from heat and gradually stir in milk powder. Return to heat and bring to a boil again. Add crushed biscuits, ground hazelnuts, and powdered sugar. Mix with a hand mixer until combined. If too stiff, add a splash more milk.
Shape the Mixtures: Lay plastic wrap on a flat surface. Flatten the dark mixture into a rectangle. Cover with another sheet of plastic wrap and roll to about 1/5 inch thickness.
Assemble the Roll: Remove the top plastic wrap and evenly spread the warm light mixture over the dark layer. Let cool slightly.
Roll It Up: Carefully roll the mixture into a log shape. Coat the roll with ground hazelnuts.
Refrigerate for at least an hour before serving.
