Fettuccine Alfredo is a classic pasta dish known for its creamy and rich flavor. Made with tender fettuccine, buttery garlic sauce, sour cream, and Parmesan cheese, it’s a simple yet luxurious meal.

Fettuccine Alfredo Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 100 g grated Parmesan cheese
  • 80 g butter
  • 400 g fettuccine pasta
  • Salt to taste
  • 500 ml sour cream
  • 0.5 teaspoon white pepper
  • 2 cloves of garlic

Preparation:

Garlic Preparation:

  1. Peel the garlic and chop it finely.

Cooking the Pasta:

  1. Fill a pot of appropriate size with water, cover, and bring to a boil.
  2. Add salt and pasta to the boiling water. Cook uncovered on medium heat for 10-12 minutes.
  3. Once the pasta is cooked, drain the water, cover the pot, and set it aside.
  4. Check the pasta package for specific cooking times and follow the instructions if provided.

Sauce Preparation:

  1. In a slightly deeper skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Briefly sauté the garlic for no longer than one minute.
  2. Add 1 ½ cups of sour cream and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from the heat, add the white pepper, and stir.
Tip: Whisking the sour cream slightly beforehand makes preparing the sauce easier.
  3. Pour the sauce into the pot with the cooked pasta, add the remaining sour cream, about 80 g of Parmesan, and salt to taste. Place the pot on low heat and warm while stirring for 1-2 minutes.

Serving:

Garnish the pasta with fresh or dried parsley. Serve with the remaining grated Parmesan in a separate bowl for guests to add as desired.
