Fettuccine Alfredo is a classic pasta dish known for its creamy and rich flavor. Made with tender fettuccine, buttery garlic sauce, sour cream, and Parmesan cheese, it’s a simple yet luxurious meal.
Fettuccine Alfredo Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 100 g grated Parmesan cheese
- 80 g butter
- 400 g fettuccine pasta
- Salt to taste
- 500 ml sour cream
- 0.5 teaspoon white pepper
- 2 cloves of garlic
Preparation:
Garlic Preparation:
- Peel the garlic and chop it finely.
Cooking the Pasta:
- Fill a pot of appropriate size with water, cover, and bring to a boil.
- Add salt and pasta to the boiling water. Cook uncovered on medium heat for 10-12 minutes.
- Once the pasta is cooked, drain the water, cover the pot, and set it aside.
- Check the pasta package for specific cooking times and follow the instructions if provided.
Sauce Preparation:
- In a slightly deeper skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Briefly sauté the garlic for no longer than one minute.
- Add 1 ½ cups of sour cream and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from the heat, add the white pepper, and stir.
Tip: Whisking the sour cream slightly beforehand makes preparing the sauce easier. - Pour the sauce into the pot with the cooked pasta, add the remaining sour cream, about 80 g of Parmesan, and salt to taste. Place the pot on low heat and warm while stirring for 1-2 minutes.
Serving:
Garnish the pasta with fresh or dried parsley. Serve with the remaining grated Parmesan in a separate bowl for guests to add as desired.
