This homemade dried fig liqueur is easy to make and full of natural sweetness. With just two ingredients and some patience, you’ll have a smooth, aromatic liqueur that’s perfect for sipping chilled or giving as a thoughtful gift.
Dried Fig Liqueur
Makes: More than 10 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 quart (4 cups) grape brandy (lozovača or komovica-style)
- 7 ounces dried figs (about 1 heaping cup), halved
Instructions:
- Slice the dried figs in half and place them in a large glass jar.
- Add the brandy and stir well.
- Seal the jar tightly and place it in a sunny spot.
- Stir gently every 5–6 days.
- After about 2 months, strain the liqueur through cheesecloth and pour into clean bottles.
- Serve chilled.
