This traditional dish, though simple, combines the rich flavors of juicy ground meat, rice, and fragrant spices perfectly balanced with the sweet note of peppers simmered in tomato sauce.

Classic Stuffed Peppers Ingredients:

8 medium bell peppers

10.5 oz (300 g) ground meat

½ cup (100 g) rice

1 medium onion

2 cloves garlic

¾ cup (200 ml) crushed tomatoes or tomato juice

Oil (vegetable or olive oil)

Salt, pepper, sweet paprika powder (to taste)

Preparation:

Wash the peppers, remove seeds and stems.

Finely chop the onion and sauté in a little oil until translucent.

Add the ground meat and cook until it changes color.

Add minced garlic and spices, stir well.

Rinse the rice and mix it with the meat and onion mixture.

Stuff the peppers with the filling and arrange them in a pot.

Pour the crushed tomatoes over the peppers and add enough water to nearly cover them. Season to taste.

Cook covered over medium heat for about 45-60 minutes. Stir gently occasionally.

Serve hot with homemade bread.
