These chocolate chunk cookies are soft, golden, and filled with pools of rich melted chocolate. A touch of honey gives them a delicate sweetness and helps keep the center chewy while the edges turn crisp. Perfect with a cup of coffee or a glass of milk, these cookies bring classic comfort with a modern twist you’ll want to bake again and again.

Ingredients:

¾ cup (1 ½ sticks) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled

¾ cup packed brown sugar

½ cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon honey

1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

1 large egg

1 egg yolk

2 cups all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup chopped dark chocolate or chocolate chunks

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, white sugar, and honey until smooth.
  3. Add vanilla, egg, and egg yolk; mix until creamy.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until combined.
  6. Fold in the chopped chocolate pieces with a spoon or spatula.
  7. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes (this helps the cookies hold their shape).
  8. Scoop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
  9. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden around the edges.
  10. Let cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a rack.

For extra flavor, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over the cookies right after baking. You can also freeze the dough balls for later use — they bake perfectly straight from the freezer.
