World Asthma Day is celebrated worldwide on the first Tuesday of May. This year ‘World Asthma Day’ will be celebrated on 2 May.
This special day is celebrated to make people aware of prevention of asthma.
What is Asthma Disease?
Asthma is a serious disease related to the lungs due to which the patient feels difficulty in breathing.
Actually, due to swelling in the airways due to asthma, the airways get narrowed.
Due to constriction in the respiratory tract, symptoms like difficulty in breathing, sound while breathing, chest tightness, cough start
appearing in the patient.
If the person does not get the right treatment for asthma in time, then the situation can become very serious.
Symptoms of asthma –
Cough with mucus or dry cough.
Feeling of tightness in the chest.
-Difficulty in breathing.
Wheezing sound while breathing.
The condition worsens by breathing in cold air.
Causes of Asthma
Nowadays due to increasing pollution, most of the people are complaining of asthma.
Apart from vehicular fumes behind asthma, cold, flu, smoking, change in weather, allergic foods, drug and alcohol consumption along with emotional stress can also cause asthma.
Prevention of Asthma
- To prevent pollution, wear a mask on your face while going out of the house.
With the increase in humidity in the rain, the chances of infection also remain high.In this case take care of yourself.
Asthma can be controlled by doing yoga like Surya Namaskar, Pranayama, Bhujangasan.
Asthma patients should consume protein, cold drinks, eggs, fish, cold things, carbohydrate-rich things in small quantities.
Asthma patients should include foods containing vitamins A, C and E in addition to green leafy vegetables in their diet.
